Payment Policy

We accept all major credit cards through PayPal Secure Checkout. You do not need a PayPal account.  When you check out through the PayPal shopping cart, you will have the option of using your credit card or your PayPal account.

PayPal enables you to pay without sharing your financial information with us. That means no one at Nordic Soap ever sees your credit card information. In fact, your credit card information does not even touch our servers or databases. When you check-out, your payment page will open in a secure window which resides on PayPal’s secure servers, not this website. For more information about the kind of information we handle through this website and what we do with it, see our Privacy Policy below.

Taxes

Pennsylvania residents must pay sales tax on both soap and shipping; City of Philadelphia residents are required to pay 8% sales tax while the rest of Pennsylvania residents are required to pay 6% sales tax. For more information on Pennsylvania tax rates, visit here. We do not tax anyone who lives outside of Pennsylvania.We calculate taxes based on zip code inside of PayPal; you will see your tax, if any, clearly listed before you finalize your order.

Shipping Policy

Shipping

We charge a $5.50 flat-rate to ship anywhere in the United States, regardless of the size of your order. We try to keep it simple, and it benefits you when you purchase more soap. We usually ship via United States Postal Service, and usually Priority Mail, although it depends on the size of your order. In any event, it is our sincere goal to deliver your soap within 3-5 days of your order; seasonal soaps can require an additional 2-3 business days. You will receive an email when your order ships.

We can ship overnight, express, and even international, at an additional cost. Please use the form on the Contact page to request a quote.

Pickup

For local friends and family, we also offer an option to pickup your order at our home. You may select “Pickup” as a shipping option on the checkout screen. Obviously, we cannot offer this to everyone, but for friends and family you can avoid the $4.95 and stop by for some coffee, too. Note: if you select “Pickup” as your shipping option and you are not an existing friend or family member, we will send you a separate PayPal invoice for the $5.50 shipping; your order will not be sent until the shipping is paid!

Return Policy

We are a small, family-owned and home based business. Every sale is critically important to us. However, we want you to be completely satisfied with our product. If you have a problem with any part of your order from us, please use the form on the Contact page to lets us know about it. Work with us and we will make it right. If we need to refund your money or replace your soap, we will, on a case-by-case basis.

Packaging Policy

Each bar of Nordic Soap is wrapped by hand. We use as little packaging as possible, in order to keep costs down and lessen the burden on the environment. The packaging we do use is as ecologically friendly as we can get, and we are always trying to improve in this area. Currently, you will find each bar of soap in an individual glassine bag, tied shut with sisal twine, and marked with a recycled paper card. The soap will be placed directly into the shipping box without any additional packaging. We will fill the box, if needed, with shredded, recycled kraft-paper cushioning to protect your soap during shipping. All of these elements are recyclable, biodegradable, and most are even compostable. We take great care in reducing the environmental impact of our products as much as we can; we ask that you take care in reusing or recycling the packaging as best you can. Cost and Ingredients Policy

We realize Nordic Soap doesn’t appear to be the least expensive soap you can buy. However, when you compare the extra-large size of our soap bars (5oz +), as well as the quality of our ingredients, we believe you’ll find that our soap is actually very inexpensive.

We choose only the finest, all natural ingredients, and this is reflected in the pricing. For instance, essential oils are much more expensive than synthetic fragrances, and naturally crushed cocoa butter is much more expensive than beef tallow. These are critical product elements for us, they are what make Nordic Soap special and unique, and we believe they make a significant difference in your health and the health of the environment.

We will never scrimp on ingredients, and we will keep the costs as low as we can.

Privacy Policy

We will not share your information with anyone.

We will keep a database of our customers and their contact information, but never their payment information.

We will place simple cookies on your web browser to help you with your order —  so that if you add something to your cart, go to another page and then come back, your items will still be there. That is all they do. We do not track anything about you or conduct any research without your explicit approval.

We will email you when your order is placed and when your order ships.

Once you are a customer of ours, we will email you a monthly newsletter and occasional announcements of special sales. You may opt-out of these at anytime. We take your opt-out requests seriously.

We will never call you unless you specifically ask us to.

We will never send anything to your house except for the soap in your order.

We will never contact you on behalf of anyone else, or solicit you for buy from anyone else.

Again, and most importantly: We do not share your information with anyone. Ever.
